Power of Young People

Dr. Alton Pollard, III presented to the class a Song by the Ojays named Ship Ahoy. I found this song very emotional and monumental to my urge to learn more about the African American culture. I feel the song main message on how far we came form a race correlates with what Dr. Pollard was stressing in his presentation how much power young people hold. Music is a great way to change the way the African American culture views things I feel like more artists should gear their music towards positive things so that the young people can get a positive message instilled in them. After listening to Dr. Pollard I was motivated to do something revolutionary like other African Americans and history did before me.
