Research and Methodology: Inscription as a Liberating Practice
Dr. Dana Williams was the speaker of the discussion on Tuesday morning. She stated that this would be the last discussion we would have with a guest speaker which instantly made me cherish the information she was stating. She stated "One of the goals of this course is to encourage every student 'to pursue a lifetime of independent discovery, including the appreciation of the importance of research.'” This statement helped me discover my purpose of attending college to not only make money but to learn as much as possible. She also explained to us the purpose of the group project and what we would exactly be doing in the process. I am excited to research a topic and present my findings to the program. I hope to continue to keep Dr. Dana Williams words in the back of my head during my academic career at Howard and beyond.
